A Light bulb Moment

Continuing with different styles of card designs for men and sharing ideas.
I started with a free Light bulb photo from Pixaby with thanks to Josh 13
Edited it in photolab, with a comic book effect added.

Also used two free Digital Scrapbooking kits from my store.

Card idea below created  by re-colouring elements to grey and one white.
Stacking and adding shadow for depth.
Some cool wording to complete.
It could be for Valentines or even just because.

A little additional blending gives a slightly grungier look shown below.

Hope you enjoy the ideas and both the free kits are available in store if you would like to download them to use in your preferred software. (Craft Artist, Photoshop and Elements compatible).

Incognito - Inspiration Continued

I was thinking how to combine both Love and Travel into a male themed Valentine Card I am working on. Hope you can all keep it a secret as it is meant to be for my husband !

While the journey continues I am sharing what I designed with you all for Inspiration.
Feel free to use the idea with your own digikits and create something similar .
I used my new digikit 'Incognito'  to create the card front in layers.

Layer 1 - Added a plain background to an A5 layout.
Layer 2 - Placed a striped material plus a map material blended on top.
Layer 3 - Cropped a material to a circle shape, added a line edge to this and shadow for lift.
then placed decoration and frame on top. The heart was made by cropping a material, converting it to picture, then lowering transparency so it became slightly see through.
Layer 4 - Two Borders and some Word Art added.
Layer 5 - Plain paper overlaid and blended.

I made a matching paper for the insert too.

Hope it gives a little Inspiration and here are a few words that may also work well for inserts or scrapbooking with a travel theme.

I would love to travel the world with you by my side
Make memories Along The Way
Everyday's An Adventure With You
My Paradise is With You
You & Me = The Perfect Adventure

Art Journal fun - Digital Scrapbooking

Hi everyone, I was creating a digital layout for a challenge over at Daisytrail today.
This year one of the challenges is Art Journaling and they are currently on week 5

The prompt was: 'Shapes & Colour' - Journal about whatever you like this week, just have some bright colour and at least two different shapes on your page. The page I entered was this top one.
My two predominant shapes were hearts and circles, core colours jade and purple. I used sticker styles, shadow and blending effects.Added a vintage image edited with transparency elipse and created my own word art. In photo lab added a blue grunge filter. I also made then copied/ blended layers to add depth of colour. The kit used is Random Thoughts, plus one element from Click n Summer Add On - Algera Designs.

Well then I got to playing in my software and used different blends to change the colours.
Here are two more different finishes to show how one layout can look 3 different ways.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this.
Why not pop along to Daisytrail and see all the fab challenges they have to enter.

Mixed Media Fun

Yesterday afternoon I had a couple of hours free for some crafting and here is the finished project. A Mixed Media Piece for my lounge. Lots of messy fun had painting the canvas, distressing the paper leaves, plus printing out papers, waxing my die cuts and arranging the layout before attaching everything with a glue gun.
I used lots of items including...Paper Flowers, sequins, leaves and music paper from CraftBox (January). Some additional flowers and a stamp from February's Craft Stamper magazine also with thanks to Anna from Craftbox. A free paper from Pinkish and a cherub image from Calling On Angels  Foxeysquirrel's Digital Scrapbooking range. A wooden tag and mushroom acrylic paint from Craftshapes UK. A small 5x7 Canvas, Gesso, Pebeo gilding wax, stamping ink, distress ink and some ribbon from my crafty stash plus a die cut elegant border from the Downton Abbey range - Crafters Companion.
I used an existing frame I had so I could hang it as wall art.

I have added links below to some of the suppliers I have used.
Credit to them for their products in the making of the above.
