Work Life Balance - Decision

A slightly different post to my usual today... It is all about a difficult decision I recently made. I have stepped down from creating samples for the Serif Craft Artist Design Team. It was with mixed feelings as I had the most wonderful time creating many different layouts, cards, scrapbook pages, blogging about them and making a few tutorials, hints and tips along the way. However working full time, studying and life in general has become so very busy that I had to weigh up balancing my time and commitments to regain a work life balance.
As anyone who knows me is aware I absolutely Love the Craft Artist software and their Innovative digikit designs so I will still from time to time share Ideas and Inspiration using them but with the shoe firmly on the other foot as a consumer again. I will also be following with avid interest to see what exciting new products and designs are launched during 2015.

Here's a link to my Pinterest - Craft Artist Inspiration page where I regularly post ideas.

Look out too here on the blog over the coming months to see a few ideas.

Thinking About Valentines

Valentines is roughly a month away now so I have been experimenting with a little layout Inspiration for the blog this afternoon... You can make a totally unique card by combining elements from a mix of digikits and adding your own edits and finishing touches.

For the layout you see below I chose two of the digikits in my current' Algera Designs' collection, they were the Eclectic & Projection digikits. Working in Craft Artist 2 Software I cropped one of the papers to a heart shape to create a central topper adding shadow for lift.  Then layered flowers and a mix of elements for decoration. Font used Firenze SF on the tag.

Additional effects were added including transparency and blends on the top layer for some pretty and mixed colour changes. The final layout combines different textures and tones giving it a slightly shabby rustic look.
The next stage once printed will be to add some lovely distress inks and some beautiful organza ribbon to complete. This may well be a 'To be continued' as I can't wait to see what this will look like and need to pop out tomorrow to get a few craft supplies so I can show you the finished project in a future post.

Tea and Inspiration

"A Very Happy New Year" to you all. This year I wanted to start with a little freebie paper crafting printable project idea here on the blog for you. The first image is a preview of the A4 printable layout which you can download here:
Once downloaded unzip the file and using your preferred software print out.
Once printed, cut out the elements. As you can see I have included a plain topper too if you wish to personalise your design with anything else.

This photo shows the cut out elements and a few items, tulle, gems and paper flowers that I have used to decorate the finished project below. You can of course add your own Beautiful touches to your project.
Here Is the finished project, I used an antique linen distress ink on the edges of the card, gathered a square piece of tulle to make the bow and layered the elements using foam pads.

Once complete you can top a card, make a fridge magnet or wall art etc...

Hope you enjoy this free gift and Inspiration

I used 'Tea and Cake' digital scrapbooking kit from my collection
to create the printable and you can see the digikit and my entire range at Escape And Scrap.

What a Wonderful Year

What a year 2014 has proved to be creating samples for TV and social media. I have been so lucky to work with a huge array of wonderful digikits that Serif Craft Artist launched both at Create & Craft and Daisytrail. The whole journey began back in March when I got to join a great group of talented people and work with the first digikit of many 'Woodland Walk'. From then on it has been jam packed with exciting projects using products created by...The talented Artists and Designers at Daisytrail with digikits such as Art Deco Cruise, Dreamcatcher and Ruffles & Frills to name but a few. Along with many guest designers including designs by Graphic Authority, Hearts Designs, Victoria Nelson, Cottage Arts and Sahlin Studio. Then there was the loveable Bagpuss and Roald Dahl collections, Digiboss, Parchment crafts and the 2015 calendars. We have made Scrapbooks and cards in many varieties, gift boxes and bags, calendars, keyrings, mini books, tunnel cards, bookmarks, wall art and hybrid projects plus much more... to show a glimpse of what can be made using Craft Artist software.

So as December is here I would like to say thank you to Serif Craft Artist, The entire Daisytrail Team, everyone who has commented or messaged me at Daisytrail, Facebook and here on the blog its really appreciated x I so look forward to 2015 and just know there will be many more exciting products launched by Serif Craft Artist.
